Naturally occurring food and fuel contain complex carbon-based molecules, chiefly derived from plant matter that has been formed by photosynthesis. The chemical reaction of these molecules with oxygen releases energy; such reactions provide energy for most animal life and for residential, commercial, and industrial activities.
Transpiration is the evaporation or loss of water by plants; it occurs
chiefly at the leaves while their stomata are open for the passage of
CO2 and O2 during photosynthesis.
For photosynthesis to occur, plants need: · Light energy from the sun · Chlorophyll to absorb light energy · Carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and from respiration in plant cells · Water which is absorbed by the roots and transported to the leaves by the xylem tubes....
I believe this will happen because when the light source is nearer to the plant more of the plants surface area is coming in to contact with the light from the desk lamp therefore more photosynthesis will occur which will mean more oxygen will be produced which will create more bubbles....
We have also learnt that photosynthesis is a vital process that occurs in order to create glucose and oxygen, by transforming carbon dioxide and water in the presence of light energy.
The further away the light, the slower the oxygen bubbles will be produced so the less light the less photosynthesis will occur which is needed for the plant to make food....
In areas where
light is insufficient for this process of photosynthesis to occur,
then other measures have to be taken by the plant to maintain a steady
rate of producing chemical energy to survive.
